We don't know the facts.

We don't know the facts.

This may be a substantial overreach by the local sheriff or there's more to this story than mom and dad are sharing.

There is zero evidence to the contrary of the fathers claims of his being the sole imbiber of said substance. That is the crux of this segregation of the children and not some jackbooted act on behalf of law enforcement. The family, like all people charged with child endangerment, (if that becomes the charge) will have their day in court, actions preceding arrest may be taken to insure the children's welfare, whether you agree or not, that is the law.

"Just cause", is this something you've redefined or will you be satisfied with the standing legal definition. Read more about the family for a wider view of what may have caused them to have a raised profile within the local law enforcement agency. I'm not saying we shouldn't be allowed to have our own ways of living, nor am I ignorant of our civil rights, but children all too often are captives in the parents nonsensical ways and therefore have little to no say in their own welfare.

I often think about the Mormon sect that recently was torn into by police and the courts that revealed some terrible stuff regarding the "prophet" Warren Jeffs and his twisted infatuation with young girls. A good number of people thought Jeffs was a decent man and characterized his capture as something akin to Christian faith being under attack. Many of those who feature themselves as a type of "separatist" have made the headlines when their beliefs begin to include the notion of whose laws they are required to obey, Tim McVeigh, Terry Nichols, Warren Jeffs, Randy Weaver, David Koresh, Richard Butler, come to mind. Our courts are not infallible, but we do have to have faith in some institution of law or we'll simply have no meaningful law..

I've read many articles about this situation and see absolutely no reason for the police to have been involved. Please share if you have other sources.

Garland County parents fight for their seven children in court W - KATV - Breaking News, Weather and Razorback Sports

The police become involved when someone outside the house files a complaint about possible child neglect or abuse, and one or more of the children confirms it.

According to the Garland County Sheriff:

"Multiple agencies responded to the residence, located at 815 Treasure Isle Road, Hot Springs Arkansas. Upon arrival, and after an extensive on site investigation, it was determined by investigators the minor children living at the residence were at risk of serious harm due to a number of different factors.

A disturbed reaction is a choice.
A disturbed reaction based on hearsay, reported in social media, is a also a choice.

None of us know the facts.

Suspending judgment until facts are known is also choice.

The only thing any of us control is our own reaction.

AKA: Sheriff is getting his butt ringed for kidnapping safe, happy, good kids from a loving family and is trying to cover his butt and his departments butt. They have court today at 1:30 so hopefully they get the kids back from their kidnapping. Then they can sue the living daylights out of the DFCS and Sheriff Dept.
