Maybe...but then, it's no big deal. Soldiers don't really care about the double standard. I don't know why some people want women to get the Induction Cut so bad. It's not important.
If it is not important then why do we still do it for men?
Some have a problem with equality being a two way street
Ranger school is basically infantry leadership training. What's the point of spending tax dollars to put women through Ranger school when they are prohibited from serving in the infantry? And why take away valuable slots from male candidates who do serve in the infantry?

The same reason women are trying to get through the USMC Infantry Officer course. Politically all signs point to the last combat restrictions being lifted soon. And the Chief's of Staff/Commandant's will want to be ready when the orders come down from the Army and Navy Secretaries. And in the Army's case even if females are never allowed in the 16th Infantry Regiment there is a real case to be made for them being in the Special Forces. While being a tabbed Ranger is not a requirement to be a Special Forces man many have that qualification before attempting Special Forces assessment.

Not everyone that becomes a Ranger is Infantry, if you were Army you would know that fact.
