What American conservatives hate most about liberals, about The Democratic Party is their limited attempts to open up the political process to more Americans whom conservatives deem worthless and unworthy of political participation.
conservatives truly believe that millions upon million of their fellow citizens don't count as being deserving of representation by their government.
That there exists citizens who are so low and worthless in the eyes and minds of conservatives, that merely the act of speaking to these Americans damages the nation's political system.
This conservative fear and loathing of millions upon millions of other Americans and the belief that they shouldn't be represented by their government is the unifying idea of conservatism which is exclusion.
This is the main reason conservatives vote for republicans.
