Only a weakling would threaten to shoot down his ally's warplanes.

That said, this story is bogus.
Better we don't intervene in the cesspool of the ME.

If Israel is hell-bent on launching an unprovoked pre-emptive strike on Iran let them have at it, and let no American blood be spilled over the consequences of that strike.

So, you support an extraconstitutional military coup. So much for respect for the constitution.

I doubt the USA would shoot down Israeli Aircraft - all that would be necessary is to free up Billions of Dollar to Iran by lifting sanctions (check, TeamO did that) and let them buy the Russian Antey-2500 missiles which Russia has offered to Iran by our good friend Putin. Of course, Iran claims they have no interest in Nuclear Weapons, developing Delivery Systems for Nuclear Weapons - so they probably have no interest in Defend Mechanisms to protect those 'nonexistent or planned' Nuclear Weapons. We should just Trust them and believe them, Congress should not even be allowed to look at any agreement that TeamObama might sign to seal his Great Legacy with the Country that chants "Death to America, Death to Israel" every Friday.

The Antey-2500 was developed from the 1980s-generation S-300V system (SA-12A Gladiator and SA-12B Giant). It can engage missiles traveling at 4,500 meters per second, with a range of 2,500 km (1,500 miles), according to the company that makes it, Almaz-Antey.

If there's any real reason to fear that country the investigation should begin immediately of how much $$$ we've spent on defense in the last 50 years or so with apparently little to show for it.

So Israel has to do what is in our interest or BO shoots their military members?

Have we made some agreement to protect Iran? I don't recall us being best friends.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Just saying though...If we have to shoot down an Israeli jet, we should without hesitation.

Israel is free to attack Iran as far as I'm concerned...but if that attack is in contravention of OUR interests?

Oh yeah...shoot it right the hell down.

Wow! How anti-American can you get. Yes, we protect our own interests, against anyone. Are you some kind of traitor or something?

Preventing Israel from self defense? Stay classy.

Prey tell what this contravention of interests is? Considering U.S and Israel see eye to eye on all issues Iran. The biggest difference is Obama's policies will allow Iran to become a regional hegemony.
