Nearly the entire advertising industry is based on objectifying something or someone. The notion that Playboy can be singled out as disgusting for objectifying women is tiresome bra burning feminist rhetoric that has long since been discredited. Rational people now realize that objectification occurs everywhere in modern society and occurs to everyone. Using objectification of women to slam Republicans is just lame at this point. This isn't the 1970s anymore.
Ouch. Nicely done.

Just a quick list of some of the political figures:

Lech Walesa
Imelda and Ferdinand Marcos
Yasser Arafat
Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.)

That's only up to 2002.

"Reduced"? Perhaps you should do a little research on who has done interviews with Playboy.

Playboy reduced to interviewing Dick Cheney. That's more like it.

Republicans being the party of family values is something that liberals say about Republicans, not something that Republicans say about themselves.

Who was it that wanted to ban music with explicit lyrics? Tipper Gore. The woman that you wanted as first lady. Not me. You.
Oh, this confused me and left me with the impression that the GOP was all about family values.

No war on women here. In fact the GOP embraces women (as long as they are naked).

Exactly. It doesn't matter what sort of magazine Playboy is, what baffles me is that they care what Cheney thinks. Cheney was a failure who was wrong about everything, and everyone but the "my party right or wrong" sort hated him for it. Why does anyone care about what he thinks when he's always wrong? That he's so upset with Obama just tells me Obama's doing a fine job. Can you imagine what an awful scumbag Obama would have to be to win the approval of people like Dick Cheney and his fans?

I agree. His death will make the world a better place. I'm planning to take a sickday that day to celebrate.

objectify: degrade to the status of a mere object.

how does photos of beautiful women, degrade females into just an object? Thats so insulting to women.

My gf, I've seen naked lots of times, that doesn't make her a mere object..
I guess that is difficult for anyone who watches Fox News, where their "newscasters" are blondes who show a lot of cleavage and leg, to understand. For Fox News viewers, objectifying women is a norm.
