Since it was not a scandal then, and is not a scandal today, it must have been fake.
Bringing service men home, even if they are guilty of breaking rules, is not a scandal.
Lying about a coward deserters service is a slap in the face to honorable US servicemen and women and an unforgivable offense to the brave soldiers that died for this country.
Trading known terrorists and giving comfort (Bergdahl's LOSER father) to those that wish ill on our country IS scandalous to say the least.
And you can add trying to silence Bergdahl's platoon mates with a gag order on to that list also. Something you conveniently CHOSE to ignore.
You are correct about him being a soldier. His biggest downfall, he went to be on the other side, he wasn't trying to get back to America.[/quote
The details will come out in the trial. If not for the prisoner exchange this would not be headline news.
Well holy heck! Finally something we can agree upon...just sad that people have been saying this from the beginning (it never should have happened for those 5 anyway) and people such as you are just now figuring it out.
I want all the NON- Military to say these thousands of times, forwards, backwards, in your sleep:
Repeat after me:
1st General Order
"I will guard everything within the limits of my post and quit my post only when properly relieved."
2nd General Order
"I will obey my special orders and perform all of my duties in a military manner."
3rd General Order
"I will report violations of my special orders, emergencies, and anything not covered in my instructions, to the commander of the relief."
Don't forget..we traded 5 terrorists for 1 deserter.
Getting our missing soldier back is not related to that soldier facing charges of Desertion. They are two separate things.
