"Last year the group, published a “Patriot Hitlist”, linking mainline political activists and even members of Congress, such as Ron Paul, with violent extremist minority groups."
...
"Most infamously, the SPLC was cited as a primary research source in the highly inflammatory Missouri Information Analysis Center report, a federally funded “fusion center” document that equated Ron Paul supporters, people who display bumper stickers, people who own gold, or even people who fly a U.S. flag with radical race hate groups and terrorists."
Of course you should, if you feel you've been wronged then right it in the court system. why cause yourself more trouble and possibly put your life at risk? That's just stupid.

Gee to think that following this logic we would have never had a Civil Rights Act, or ended the War in Vietnam.
I had a very similar conversation with a lawyer, who explained to me that if you comply with a cops request, you cant sue and your ability to complain is diminished since they only asked, and you voluntarily complied to the request.
Recently in Oregon, a guy was busted with something like 25 pounds (!) of meth in his car. He was stopped for some traffic violation and consented to a search of his car. I can't imagine what the guy was thinking.
So, should you always comply with cop, regardless of how wrong you think he/she is, regardless of their powertrip?
Yes, if you think he will shoot you.
No, if the cop knows he is wrong and will let you go. A good example is Border Patrol stops 100 miles from the border. They all know it is illegal and if you refuse to answer their questions, they will let you go.
Another example is refusing to let a cop into your house without a warrant.
Of course, unless the cop is asking you to do something illegal, unethical or immoral. People cause themselves more trouble being noncompliant. Better you comply and then roast the department in the media afterward.

Unfortunately, that process does not always work. And even when it does, you can spend years and all of your life savings fighting in court. There are many many well document cases. Here is one example;
Yes. Leave the fighting and arguing in the court room.
Only if you are wealthy. Middle class people don't have the resources for a courtroom fight.
