Birthright citizenship is a constitutional amendment. Changing that are near impossible. Not to mention that we need more young people as the birth rate is otherwise low.

Republicans will never win another presidential election because of changing demographics and the electoral college. It has nothing to do with birthright citizenship.

Yes, they are whether you like it or not. Not all Puerto Ricans speak English, but we are just as American as you. Get over it. All of the US doesn't look like Hagerstown, MD

Wrong again. English is the language here. I'm sorry that's a fact and that most illegals can't or won't learn it.

That would be those that passed the 14th Amendment. You know, the ones that had just won the Civil War.

I am so disappointed at the republicans. What in the world are they thinking?

Opposing birthright citizenship is going to upset a lot of people, especially immigrants.

They are out of their mind. i may have to vote democratic!
Amazing coming from the same Republicans that believe in wet foot/dry foot with Cubans that come her, step on US soil and bang you are here legally and on the fast track to citizenship, or is it something special about Cubans or do the Repubs only hate those from other countries or is it some more of that old double standard of theirs showing it's ugly head again.

Face it; if democrats thought it was a winning issue they would have passed it when they easily could have. They know when Bush even proposed reform with amnesty it was not just republicans who opposed the biil. No one wants to propose the same now and Obama only did it order once no election coming up to face.
