It's creepy that he's noticed her since she was 10.... I mean that would immediately make me feel some type of way if I was Obama. And yes Malia is very attractive. I wonder if she's even allowed to date.
This is an excellent example of a culture where girls are just as much a commodity as cows. They do not have any say about who they marry. Within his culture this guy is making a genuine and generous offer. He will be very upset when it is rejected because he cannot understand the concept that women not their father's property but are free beings capable of making their own choices. The men that freeing the women would eliminate a major source of a man's wealth in that culture.
This emancipation of Women is a extension of the West's rejection of slavery and is a very important part of our culture. I cannot, as I was once treated as a child slave by my stepfather, tolerate slavery.
What a silly post!
Cattle are a store of wealth for many cultures. He is making an offer that in his culture is tremendously generous - albeit ultimately pointless. To assume this reflects slavery is cultural arrogance on your part.

Notice that in that culture he isn't asking Malia, he is asking Barack. Obviously the girls opinions don't matter.
I have never had a problem being culturally arrogant. I like our culture. In some situations and on some subjects I like being arrogant.
Controlling the life of someone else, relative or not, that includes arranging their marriage, so long as a bride price is paid IS slavery at its core. The idea that a parent owns their children is also slavery.

Let's not be pretentious. He is hardly ignorant of other cultures and has firsthand experiences in and with them. He is not like his predecessor, who crazily expressed his surprise that there were "black people" in Brazil.
Part of his initial appeal was his multicultural experiences. People hoped that his approach to world issues may be different due to that. However, he has to work with and compromise with a number of individuals who are that way regarding other cultures.
Wrong. BO is very ignorant of cultures. He only experienced Indonesia (made up of ~17,000 islands, Muslim step father and schooling) and Hawaii (very shallow US background) and his actions show it. He has no background of any substance and shows he is definitely in over his head; i.e., 100% not qualified for POTUS!
