The only countries benefitting from the Euro are Germany and Netherlands.

How are THEY benefiting? They are the ones who's taxpayers have had to support and carry the rest of the welfare states of Europe. Greece benefited greatly over the last decade. It's a shame they aren't responsible enough to pay their fair share.

"Worse still, the Lisbon Treaty limits them to 3% of GDP and debt to 60%. In 1980, Greek debt was 22.6% of GDP. In 2014, it was 177.10% - with billions more euros likely coming after Tsipras' sellout, it heads increasingly closer to 200%."

If they had to deal with a national currency, their economies would be in the crapper.

Take a lesson, this is the end result when you run out of other peoples money.
Like I said, they have to grow their **** domestically.

They will pay for the Euro as long as they stay in. They will get poorer and poorer until the country shrinks itself out of existence.

What do you think the EU is calling for? Surpluses.
Where do these surpluses come from? The Greek economy.

The only way to pay back their debt is to shrink their economy until it no longer exists.

Will the EU agree to keep them going, or perhaps they have wised up and are going to stop supporting Greece now?

I do like the idea of letting Greece reapply in 5 years for membership.
Greece should leave the Euro and never look back.

Please enlighten us to how the perpetually shrinking economy of Greece is benefiting from the Euro.

The euro is the ONLY thing keeping Greece afloat right now. Greece is a sinking ship. If Greece leaves the Euro, look for them in the impoverished section...

In informal contexts, the word is written in with the simplified Chinese character 元, that literally means "beginning".

What sank Greece is the Euro. Economic union without political union is epic fail. If Greece stays in the Euro, they WILL BE impoverished. Their economy continues to shrink.

Greece is the perfect example of Alabama or Mississippi if the Federal government didn't exist.
