The group is non-political. It has spent money on upgrading the White House during both Republican and Democrat administrations. In fact, Barbara Bush revitalized the program.

It does not involve tax payer money.

It's the White House formal dining room, it's not part of the private residence inside the White House.

Should we just wait to do any restoration or remodeling until we have a white Republican president again?

Good grief.
Didn't you scroll down throughout the whole article? She did redecorate the family dining room as well. While I like the formal one, the family one is hideous....the abstract art and creepy rug does nothing for the traditional furniture.

The Old Family Dining room is not part of the private residence.

So did the daily mail get exclusive photos or something....doubtful. Why aren't these pics in any other news outlet.

Ok, well this actually makes the overall cost far more reasonable, (assuming of course the purchase price of the art piece was within appraised value)..

Because $600K to redo the diningroom, which seems to be just a swap out of carpeting, table and chairs, and curtains, is rather high..

$300K, still high, but far more reasonable and understanding, given the painting will remain part of the White House assets..

Why did the left run around whining about tax exempt organizations just last year during the IRS "scandal", but now justifying the existence of them.

If they are bad, then they are bad.. And while I have no problem with their presence, I find the whole flip flop of the left completely hypocritical.

Actually there was a huge uproar about it at the time.. Claiming they were destroying "historic" assets etc..

IMO they should pay taxes and the guidelines for non-profits of these kind should be redefined/
examined and I'm not for religious organizations getting tax exempt status either.
Exactly WHO do you want to pay for renovations and maintenance on the White House?
