A state agency has ruled that infants up to six-months can be ensconced in the workplace. I can't even imagine the results of a policy like this at my job. The infant would likely wind up run over and dead by someone trying to boost production.
The public sector is a different kettle of fish, I suppose.

It's the Health Department, not public works or the fire department. They are the people that encourage and assist with health and families, so it's a natural. I know of several private companies that do this, even some big ones that allow dogs at work, such as Google.
So, will however has to pick up the slack while mommy is playing with her baby, get extra pay? Sorry for the people that have to deal with a screaming kid while they are trying to get work done. Of course this is a government agency so that's not a real concern.
There is no way I could've done this when my kids were small - and I really don't understand how any parent could do this and still be an efficient employee.
And there is no way I would've wanted to be in the vicinity of anyone who brought their baby to work on a consistent basis.
