Um, no, orphanages are at capacity. Women get abortions for a variety of reasons, most of the time its because they don't have the ability to care for them whether it's financial, mental or environmental reasons. I would rather ser a potential life end vs an actual human being born only to face a life of misery and pain. This is where I really don't agree with Conservatives. You don't bring a life into this world unless you can care for them. If the government tells a woman she has no choice then that government is responsible for the well being of that child, which Conservatives are not.

FYi: Planned Parenthood spends most of its time focusing on other women's health services:

According to the annual report, 42 percent of the services it provides is for STI/STD testing and treatment, 34 percent is for contraception, and 9 percent goes to cancer screening. Another 12 percent is miscellaneous women's health and other health services. The 327,653 abortions Planned Parenthood clinics perform each year make up just 3 percent of the total services the group provides.

http://plannedparenthood.org/files/4...d_Services.pdf

Planned Parenthood gives women easy access to birth control, condoms, pap smears and preventative screenings. All of these are essential services.

But here is the deal, the government does not belong in my womb.

I agree and this is something that mind boggles me because Republicans are all about limited government and especially keeping goverment out of our personal lives. This goes the same for gays too. Are you really for small/limited government?

Sometimes it sucks to feel like a person without a party. There are so many times I get into heated debates with Democrats and then right after with Republicans. I guess it is a good thing not having loyalty to one particular party.

Ha ha, you sound like me... I've been accused of being a commie and a right winger. Mostly because I ask questions.

Could you elaborate on why it should be defunded? Is it because of being against abortion, is it one of numerous "social programs" that you feel tax payers should not have to pay for?

Do you think there would be enough donations from PP supporter for it to thrive?

So has it been confirmed then that the activities in the videos are indeed illegal and the orders have not been given from the Planned Parenthood powers that be?

Thanks

Yes.

Understand that the fact that the federal government doesn't fund Planned Parenthood is not a bar to States funding Planned Parenthood.

Many States also fund Planned Parenthood.

It's up to the voters of each State, since you do live in a federal republic.

In addition to States funding Planned Parenthood, counties and cities also fund it.

I need your help on this. I would really be grateful to hear a rational argument of whether or not Planned Parenthood should be defunded.

We all have seen the articles of the undercover videos of the selling of fetal tissues and body parts.
If this is an illegal act, is this a rogue situation or is this sanctioned by Planned Parenthood itself?

I read somewhere that the "fees" charged are transportation fees, not fees for the parts.
Where are these fetuses going? Stem cell research labs, private

I'm especially interested in understanding the fiscal principals.

Does defunding Planned Parenthood go with the general (I believe) conservative ideal of keeping federal tax dollars away from organizations that should be privatized or supported only from private donations?

What other organizations do conservative believe should be defunded?

I know that abortion is a very small part of PP, but should taxes from those who are heartbroken by the thought of abortion and goes against their conscience be forced to participate though their tax dollars?

If PP is shut down what are alternatives for women as far as getting birth control etc. if they do not have health care? Are there other clinics or organizations that are not involved with abortion that would step in to provide contraception? Would they get Obamacare? (I know another can or worms!)

I was thinking of putting this in the debate forum, and will leave it up to the mods if they think it's more appropriate there, but since it's a controversial subject I thought I'd ask here first.

Thanks for any replies...
there are something like 900 PP clinics across the country vs 9,000 or so non tax payer funded clinics that provide more services. PP is makes its bones on abortions. You figure all the free contraception advice would cut down on abortions but PP is doing record aborton business. Additionally, all the free OCs has resulted in record cases of stds, etc, which can ruin your life.

800/900 PP clinics are not being shut down. their qualification to receive funding is in question. Selling baby parts is a felony which the dems try to justify by saying, look at all the good PP does!

The logic is mind boggling, I call it the columbian drug lord theory. A real bad guy makes some humanitarian gesture and all the sins of the past are to be forgiven. HRC and Bill used that logic to look past the funding from some human rights violators. If Al capone pays for your kids life saving operation, all his crimes become irrelevant. Conversely, lead an exemplary life, kill one person and your in jail for life.

Rudy had it right.......

"NEW YORK (CNN) -- Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Thursday the city would not accept a $10 million donation for disaster relief from Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal after the prince suggested U.S. policies in the Middle East contributed to the September 11 attacks. "

They're ghouls. They are descended from the WWII death camp workers who harvested teeth, bones and hair from gas chamber victims for use in the war effort. The same morality, the same banality as Adolf Eichmann.

Sipping white wine, casually talking about harvesting and selling organs is the Wannsee Conference with i-Phones.

Just as the media ignored it in 1942, so they ignore it now. Just as the German people knew and accepted it then, so we do now.
