As the Pope's visit to the US get closer, his approval rating keeps falling among "conservatives"...plus just like Obama they also think he is not a "legitimate" Pope....the "Popers"

http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/13/us/pop...ics/index.html

Yet conservative concerns over Pope Francis appear to be growing. A Gallup poll this summer showed that Pope Francis' support among American conservatives fell from 72% last year to 45% in July.

........

Some of the dissent leads to conspiracy theories that would be familiar to anyone who has followed conservative reaction to Obama's presidency.

After his election in 2008, rumors circulated that Obama's victory was not legitimate because he was not actually born in the United States and there was massive voter fraud.

Similar conspiracy theories about Pope Francis' election "won't die," according to David Gibson, a reporter for the Religion News Service. The theories revolve around the belief that Francis doesn't have a legitimate claim to the papacy.

So the Pope doesn't understand economics but the regular christian conservative claims to know more about Christianity than the Pope..our conservative Christians...what a funny lot they are

I am Roman Catholic and have never heard of this conspiracy theory. Another troll thread.

I remember after Bush's election in 2000 liberals claiming his election was not legitimate. Heck, they still do.

Not the concept of a Pope, but the concept of having to pay Rome (the Vatican) tribute monies which led to the formation of the Protestant movement.

Schism originally related to plenary indulgence where a sinner would pay for forgiveness for past sins and sins they might commit in the future.

Tribute to Rome may have been an issue for centuries but not central to protestant movement.

How does the pope have "Obamafication"? That means he's being destroyed from the inside out, or...?
Urban Dictionary: Obamafication

We all know Obama has magical powers and can put anyone in a trance and turn them into his puppets. Pope Francis used to be ultra-closed-minded, er, uh, I mean, ultra-conservative, and after one meeting with Obama he turned into someone who cared about the poor, the hungry, the sick, the oppressed, the outcasts and all those other losers. You know... like Jesus.

actually it was. martin luther posted the ninety five theses regarding the churches selling of indulgences, among other things. read this;

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ninety-Five_Theses

an interesting side note, martin luther was not the first to either break away from or be excommunicated from the catholic church, and start a new church, in fact he was the eighth to do so. but because his severance from the church was so public, it was the fire that lit the protestant reformation.

The majority of Congress may just melt as soon as he enters the room.
