I would be happy with Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) as Speaker of the House of Representatives:
Quote:
The American Conservative Union’s (ACU) Executive Director Daniel Schneider joined guest host Matthew Boyle on Breitbart News Sunday on SiriusXM, expressing that, out of the names that have been thrown out there for Speaker of the House, he thinks Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) has the highest score by the ACU.
...He described Marsha Blackburn as “one of the most conservative we’ve got in mind.” Blackburn received a score of 92 out of 100.
Although Marsha Blackburn isn’t an official candidate for Speaker yet, she scores far better than official candidates for Speaker Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT)82% and Rep. Daniel Webster (R-FL)64%.
So last year before Russia built up their forces in Syria, Blackburn recommended more air strikes and special ops, listening to recommendations from military leadership, and identifying the international coalition and defining roles for them. Blackburn also pushed back against Banfield's hectoring question about 'boots on the ground', saying that we don't need 435 Members of Congress providing courses of action - they need to hear recommendations from the military.
We see the results of Obama's feckless leadership in the region.
As for why, Blackburn has served in leadership roles (Assistant and Deputy Whip), represents a solidly GOP district, and is conservative.
Two names keep cropping up in conversations with GOP members: Representative Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee and Representative Peter Roskam of Illinois.
Blackburn is currently the vice chairwoman of the Energy and Commerce Committee and a frequent spokesman for the party on TV. A former businesswoman, Blackburn was an anti-tax tea-party-type candidate before there was a Tea Party. She led the fight against creating a state income tax in the Tennessee state senate in 2002 and swept into Congress in 2004 after winning that fight. While staunchly conservative, she maintains good relations with moderate members...

Obama only needs to show leadership in one region of the world...the United States. Blackburn wants boots on the ground. If she didn't, she would've simply said so. She just knew that politically, she couldn't risk admitting it...although being a Republican, she can't say that she DOESN'T want boots on the ground either. She knows the catch 22...and she walked right into it. She forgot that she wasn't on Fox News.
Americans don't give a damn about Syria. That's on the other side of the world. Let Russia deal with it. Syria is a lot closer to them.
Marsha Blackburn is mentally deficient. Which is why she just might have a good shot at the Speaker's chair.
The Freedom Caucus (lol) represents only 40 out of 247 House GOP members. Republicans would be dumb to cave in to the crazies (in the words of GOP Representative Peter King and Senator John McCain, not mine). But then again . . . . .
I think John Boehner will be the Speaker for a long, long time, unless Paul Ryan steps up.
