Farook would have had to apply for a visa for her, either as a fiance or spouse so it's likely that there was more than one trip to Saudi Arabia, during an earlier trip he probably married her and she got pregnant, in January the visa was probably approved and he brought her to the US.
As a spouse to a US citizen, I think they can come in with temporary visas and apply for a green card. I guess she won't be needing one now.
