I think she is a great choice for person of the year. In fact she should be person of the millennium. Her immigration/refugee policy is going to wipe out the effects of 1000 years of Europeans fighting and struggling to hold Islamic domination at bay. She has done more to alter the course of European history than any single person since the crusades. Even a year or so ago when ISIS bragged that they were going to spread their caliphate to Europe people rolled their eyes. It just seemed impossible. Nobody figured that Europe would just roll over and beg to be invaded. Merkel proved everybody wrong. It won't happen overnight but she has sown the seeds of European culture's destruction, and many European people are glad of it.

There is a collective mental illness spreading throughout western culture, the likes of which humanity has never seen before. Social media has contributed to the rapid spread. It's not the only factor, but a big one.
The extremists in Germany make the our right wing GOP members look like liberals.
I don't think refugee crisis should be Partisan issue. It affects every group - the new immigrants (refugees), people who are Muslim, exchange students, tourists, liberals, and conservatives.
