When people that are elected to office and swear to uphold the constitution, start down this raod of breaking the constitution, they need to be immediately taken out of society, permanently, the quick way, for the very amendment they are attempting to violate states.
Maybe because owning guns are not a risk to the insurance company.
Guns in the home are most certainly a risk and insurance companies are all about risk. Most insurance companies will not cover you in the case of a homicide, risk most certainly increases with a gun.

Yes we have seen that from the militia members in Oregon, how did that work out.
Someone got Murdered and a 9mm automatic that was stolen in Oregon was planted on his person. This man was from Arizona, and had left his revolver and rifle in camp.
His truck has 2 bullet holes, above the front windshield of the cab, and his person has 9 entry and exit wounds.
All guns were left in the encampment. The man was unarmed.
Quote:
While appearing in an Internet radio interview, militiaman Blaine Cooper dropped a bombshell regarding LaVoy Finicum, the rancher killed by law enforcement agents on the road to John Day, Oregon.
According to Cooper, Finicum — who had been photographed wearing a holstered revolver — had left all of his weapons at the refuge when he and the others left to attend a meeting at John Day.
“When they left to go over to the other county, all of them left their weapons behind. As far as Ammon wasn’t armed, LaVoy wasn’t armed, all of LaVoys weapons were at the refuge when he left,” he said.
“The only reason he drove off was because he was being fired at so he drove off so he didn’t get shot,” Cooper said. “There’s two rounds in the top of his truck that they were able to photograph. That’s why he drove off and tried to get around there because he was afraid they were going to kill him. And he was right.”
His hands were up when he was shot, they did not come down, until he grabbed at the pain of the wound of the first hit.
Won't fly. The sad thing is the law maker knows it but still, they will waste our time and money over this.
Owning a gun is a Constitutional right. The only way this.would work would be if you can't afford the insurance the taxpayers would have to provide it.
Makes me think there's a gun insurance lobby out there lobbying for some legislation they can write up.

That's some story, I'm going to wait for the formal investigation to be completed. There is another link regarding that topic.

What?
If owning guns is a risk to the insurance companies, given we have more guns than people, you would think that would be very high on their risk assessment checklist but no, that's not the reality.

Why waiting for the formal investigation??? Nobody waited for formal investigation in Zimmerman or Ferguson case. Oh, never mind. Black Life Matters and the shooter was not a white Hispanic and the deceased is not of a protected race. Yeah, to hell with him!
The article doesn't make it clear, this is in Connecticut. Not that it isn't less concerning because of that, tho, but leave it to Fox to leave out pertinent information! And, while I agree that it has everything to do with being able to keep track of what guns a homeowner has, insurance companies have long required someone with a 'collection' of things, whether it is tools, or guns, or antique jewelry, to ensure that the value is covered over and above the basic coverage. Be interesting to see how they propose to ensure compliance in reporting the guns.
