One more way to regulate firearms among law abiding citizens

Lawmaker proposes requiring gun owners to register with insurance companies | Fox News

I am not above having the insurance as a option if the home owner wants to cover the value of any firearms, but to make it required I am not in favor of that. Because most likely it would be very expensive.

Won't fly. The sad thing is the law maker knows it but still, they will waste our time and money over this.

Owning a gun is a Constitutional right. The only way this.would work would be if you can't afford the insurance the taxpayers would have to provide it.

Why not have the insurance companies have special coverage for my entertainment system or the tools in my garage? Guns can be considered both.

It is about liability. The Ins. companies are worried about all the new gun owners and the potential of lawsuits when wrongful shooting occur.

I believe that you can get loss coverage on those very things as long as you list them in your coverage.

This issue is over Liability.

I wonder how many claims might actually be paid out yearly for wrongful deaths by a gun. Maybe a 100 or less?

My homeowners Insurance and Umbrella Policy already cover this issue.

It's not about Insurance and payouts.
