This idea is so blatantly racist and unconstitutional. I mean second amendment rights aside, its intention is also to enforce the white power structure. Young minority males, regardless of what statistics say, are Americans and entitled to the same rights as everyone else.

I suggest we ban freedom haters like Bloomberg from holding any public office from which he can control others. Maybe dog catcher would work for him?

As always, he misses the point that the young minority men who go through the trouble of legally obtaining and owning guns are law abiding citizens who will only use them for recreation and self defense, whereas the criminals are going to obtain them illegally one way or the other, regardlssof what silly ******* law he passes.

But in the end, it is just racism and a violation of the 2nd ammendment.

A$$hole.

This is his actual quote, quite different than the title, no mention of a ban.
Most cities have an age restriction of 21 for a permit.

“Cities need to get guns out of [the] … hands” of persons who are “male, minority, and between the ages of 15 and 25.”

Breitbart version = ban guns for minority youths.

The whole issue is moot.
The U.S. could delete the 2nd and outlaw guns completely and there will still be guns on the streets. No different than drugs. All that illegal stuff and enforcement and education and crap and yet there is no problem going out and buying drugs.
It's all political posturing and ass kissing for votes.
The best thing to do would be to add gun safety and education to the curriculum.
You will never, ever, stop bad people from getting and using guns. But if you educate people how to use them and safety procedures you will probably save a bunch of lives due to stupidity.

So you suppose he is thinking a voluntary turn in would work?

Need to be 21 for a FOID or parental permission if younger, in Illinois.

Most murders in Chicago are gang related in neighborhoods controlled by gangs. Gangs don't care about laws.

Bloomberg has always been a big fan of removing the Constitutional rights of minorities.

Actually, I find him to be wrong. The Constitution guarantees the right to own a gun. Banning people from owning guns based on gender and race goes against the Constitution.

This is true. I want to add something else. There has been a history of banning Black men from having any kind of weapon. The idea was to emasculate Black men. If you can defend yourself, you can't easily be enslaved. Consider the Greenwood riot in Tulsa. The idea was to tear down a Black neighborhood. One man had a gun to defend himself. He was ordered by another man to give up his gun. Think about why he, as a Black man, would be ordered to give up his gun.
