Just based on how things are splintering up, I offer this proposal for 5 political parties in the US, to replace the current 2:

1. Democratic Socialist

2. Progressive

3. RINO

4. True Conservative

5. A party of one (that would be trump's party)

Then, the party with the most votes/candidates elected gets to name the prez, like they do the prime minister in some other countries (England and Israel come to mind). If the PM can't get enough people to work together, and form a coalition government they throw him out, and try someone else.

The current system is not good, thats for sure. It's downright anti-democratic the way it shuts out so many people because of the Dem-Rep duopoly having hijacked the system. We need more parties, more democracy and less big money special interests involved.

Here's a bunch that already exist. Why just pick one?

The founding fathers deliberately created checks and balances with separately elected Senate, House, and President. This avoids the pitfall of the Canadian parliamentary system where the Prime Minister operates like dictator with no opposition.

Why not have proportional representation? John Adams liked the idea. Then you can have as many parti s as you please.
