New black lead movie coming out...oooo let me guess...

Suave black guy paired with a dopey white man. I don't spend my money on this crap and apparently no one else does either. Trying to pull an Oscar out of that is like finding Bach in a HS band.
Really? Because that movie "Hitch" (Will Smith & Kevin James) did REAL well. Very impressive box office returns.

Somebody spent some money. Probably you too. So there goes that theory.

Decades later, the same could be said for gays and lesbians. It doesn't make it right or wrong, but when blacks become angry about mass media representation, what do they care about the asians, the hispanics, the indians, etc? Should there be show business racial quotas based on the population percentage inhabited in the USA?
The other groups draw breaths and have pulses last I checked...they can fight their own battles.

Fact of the matter is minirities can't pretend as well as the majority.

Good luck making movies for 13% of the population.
1. Many primarily Black films make a profit.

2. Not everyone is like you. Many of us just want to see a great flick. If there are Black leads or other Black actors...fine with me.

3. Ever hear of Eddie Murphy, Morgan Freeman, Sidney Poitier, Will Smith, Wesley Snipes, Denzel Washington, Kevin Hart, Michael Ealy, Idris Elba, Samuel Jackson, Ice Cube, Anthony Mackie, Chadwick Bozeman, or John Boyega. Hint -- they're Black actors that are popular beyond 13% of the population.

Last year 37 million Americans watched the Oscars...the highest rated prime time show of the year...so I guess a few people care.

This thread has nothing to do with BLM or Michael Brown. You seem to obsessed with racial topics.

Correct...Tyler Perry's films make a boatload of money.

Shonda Rhime's televisions shows also earn a ton of money. Hell, she basically owns prime time on ABC.

Sorry haters.
