The USA has had two major depressions in its history. Neither can be traced to any socialist policies. Yet you claim unabated capitalism does not fail.
Two major depressions, and (from memory) I would say at least 15 serious recessions. And to the best of my recollection, every one of them directly caused by poor regulation of the business and financial sectors. Yet the "Cult of Capitalism Can Do No Wrong" continually warns us that we have to guard against socialism, just in case it someday causes the same economic catastrophes that unchecked capitalism causes at least once in each generation.
Have you ever actually taken in a look in your house and/or garage and noticed not only where all your stuff was made but where the brands are headquartered?

And that is the problem. When I go to the store to buy something in America, most of my choices should be American made products. At 47 years old, I can remember a time when that was the case, and it is not a coincidence that our middle class was the strongest during that time period.
Politicians, who need money from corporations to win elections, have made trade deals that benefited the corporations at the expense of the American people. Carter, Reagan, Clinton, Bush, Obama, and our wonderful congress over the years have sold out the American people. This is great stuff if you are a corporation, or one of the billions of poor people in third world countries around the world, but I always believed a government's obligations were to its own people first. Our government with the aid of certain economists and their smoke and mirrors, BS theories that defy logic have sold us on the idea that globalization would benefit us in the end, but I never bought it. Globalization produces winners and losers, and when you mix the economies of wealthy nations with those of third world countries, it doesn't take a genius to figure out who those winners and losers will be.

Globalists can't help but be paranoid these days. The fifth-largest economy in the world just pissed all over their precious worldview. At least their worldview smells better now.

There was an American embassy in Europe that recently held a party for a company that was American but no longer was American and this embassy should not have held a party in their honor.

You won't hear me blaming the corporations, Trump included, because it was not their responsibility to look out for America. That is supposed to be the job of our government. Corporations are always going to put their shareholders first. They make no apologies, nor am I asking for one. I didn't vote for them to represent me, so it doesn't surprise me when they are working against my interests. I hold the people I DID vote for, to a higher standard. This is not about which companies are moving shop overseas. It's about the government that makes it so easy for them, and is some cases even rewarded them with tax breaks.

Well I am 57 and remember when the Corporations where actually in part a pillar of the middle class. They gave good wages and great pensions plans. Then corporations did indeed offshore to other nations and betray it's own employees. But this had nothing to do with politicians and some new found globalism. This started back in the 80's. And it was all about completion. I worked in IT designing computers. But got out when all of the US Companies started exporting design and fabrication to Japan. Despite tariffs it was still cheaper for them. I am always perplexed by people who think this is a new phenomenon.
If you think isolation is the answer you will be mistaken. At then end of the day we will still have corporations dominating a capitalist system. Without checks we will be worse off.
