The Democrats want to turn the US into a third-world socialist hell-hole. What better way than to open the borders and let third-world people in?

It is the old Socialist Vanguardism. Elites have privileges and the non-elites do not and have no say nor recourse.

This is so dumb its hardly worth responding to.

Why would Democrats want to turn this in to a "third world" hell hole?

I'm a Democrat and I want our country to be awesome. It already is pretty damn good. I want it to be better. I live a great life here. Are you unable to compete? If more immigrants are let in are you unable to keep up?

What's the real fear here? Why blame it on Democrats, when, it seems your own lack of skills is keeping you back...

The voter thing doesn't work out so well, since illegals can't vote, but the thought behind both sides is exactly why a wall will never get built, and probably a strong argument for a change in status. I'm not suggesting amnesty/resident alien, but a different kind of work visa, and start documenting people so you can keep the bad apples out, and you can also tax them. Heck, that's the single biggest incentive to documentation. You can't be paid under the table if you take away the table.

Plus it immediately takes away the "they're stealing all our services" argument, as they're contributing to the overall good of the nation.

It's not about competing, it's about things like this:

Sigh.
Now, the predators are in control.
We could start electing them right out of office. The next step is that they can no longer work with the United Nations, sit on Supreme Court or be a part of political deals.........we need to send them on a permanent vacation.

Why is Hillary offering "free health care" to illegals. The problem goes way beyond them finding a job and have you seen construction business due to all the illegals? I am surprised Americans are buying such cheaply built homes, built with no style........ it went up REAL fast! Sad to say, many construction workers have no skill these days......and the good ones are being left behind, by not being hired for skilled trade. Maid positions and house cleaners may seem like a low end job for you, but many Americans did these jobs before the open border policy took over. Now try to find an American maid in a hotel.

The immigration debate is purely political. Republicans don't want Hispanic voters and Democrats want them.

Why do I suspect this? Because the solution is ridiculously simple.

  • Expand ICE's capabilities for a short time to process immigration requests faster. Isn't there a 15 year waiting period or something? A lot of these people need out NOW. So expand the staffing and capabilities of ICE so the waiting list goes way, way down but we can still verify the people we are letting in are safe to accept.
  • Increase the capabilities of border patrol (or at least don't obstruct them) to do their job. Increase surveillance of the border and our ports. Make sure people are doing their jobs.
  • Shift foreign policy to focus on helping conditions in Mexico improve. I always wondered why we spent so much money and blood and time trying to fix far-off places while we seem to let Mexico drown right next door.
  • Actually enforce laws that prohibit employers from using illegal labor.
  • Deport the criminals and create a path to citizenship for non-violent offenders.
A wall won't do you much good in this day and age, it'd be a purely political move and wouldn't make us any safer. It would waste money, though.

Obviously it wouldn't please everyone but it would work.

Go ahead and write me in for President.

Lots of blame on the democrats or the republicans. The truth is that both parties are controlled by Goldman Sachs, Koch botheres and friends, etc. Today we need another political party that represents only the working class. Sanders is the only candidate that could represent all Americans and it is easy to see how big money has conspired against him. Sanders scares the top 1%. He is supported by the working class with and average donation of $31.

The main reaon we need a wall is to keep all those that would do harm to America. I mean people like the radical muslims and others like them.
