It is merely an allegation. We have a system of due process in this country.

She has a right to a hearing / trial.
She can have her due process while she is off the force. She can try to get her job back. But for now she should be fired.

Funny that they can come together to try and stick their noses into the private medical decisions of a man and his brain dead wife but they just sit around and laugh about things like this. Now I know why God invented hurricanes!

The deputy will most likely be fired which is what she deserves. They have to go by the numbers or face a law suit by the deputy for wrongful termination.
This country is sue happy and jurist love to award big.
My experience in northern Florida is a positive. In Clay county they were quite professional and believe it or not in great shape. I didn't see a whole lot of fat boys wearing the uniform.
I had a an altercation with a guy who had snatched a womans purse. I grabbed him as he tried to flee. He resisted and I put the smack on him. The deputy eluded that perhaps I was a bit over zealous but witnesses confirmed my version of events. They were polite and helpful.
Another time my apartment was broken into and once again they were very professional. After dealing with the local police of NE PA I was amazed at the difference between the Fla. Cops and PA cops.

Sorry - it does not work that way.

Imagine- she will be sitting in jail on the payroll of the jail! I guess they will save on postage for her paycheck!

You are right. I forgot that she works for the government! Now at my job with AT&T which, BTW, is a union job, I too can walk into work tomorrow and dump a fellow employee or even a customer out of a wheelchair. And my boss would not say anything either. For about 5 seconds until the shock wore off. Then he would promptly call security and my badge, card and keys would be removed and I would be escorted out the door. Now of course I could call the union hall and say "hey I was just terminated for throwing somebody out of a wheelchair because I thought they could really walk and they were faking being crippled". And the CWA union would of course have to defend me because that is their duty by law. So they would file a grievance to try to get me my job back- not because they WANT to but because they HAVE to and it would go nowhere. I could then go hire a lawyer and I might be able to find one stupid enough to take my case and then the judge or jury would see the video of the incident and of course give me damages for being "wrongfully terminated".
You are right. It doesn't work that way. Not in the real world where most of us work and live.

According to the news, she is already suspended without pay. The other 3 that were onlookers were suspended with pay initially but one has since been put on unpaid leave. The story made the Today show so hopefully there is no chance that she will walk away without jail time.

I'm not sure who gave me the negative rep for this post, but I think you misunderstood my perspective.
