The Muslims seem to be claiming that their Sharia court does not interfere with state law. I want to know, if this is true, then there's no reason that the bill passed in Texas would effect the Islamic Tribunal. Correct?

So what's the problem?

Can't cross that line, in my mind.

Is this the link?

I have to thank Obama for this. Thanks for letting them invade our country without any vetting process. Although, they might not be related to the refugees that weren't vetted properly to be here, just like the illegals, there are here and soon to be colonizing.

Mayor Van Duyne did the absolute right thing for Texas.

That's the link. Thanks

There have been Jewish courts for generations. They only arbitrate family law (such as divorce) and of course do not supersede US law, but if everyone involved wants to pursue legal action within those constructs, then why does it bother you?

Texas would be the last state in this country that they would get sharia law.. Better off in Illinois or Michigan

I'm Catholic, but I know enough to say that Sharia Law is not like Jewish courts. Sharia Law is considered Allah's law and no other law matters. If a woman is accused of adultery, whether she's guilty or not, the punishment is flogging or stoning. Testimony of women are considered worth half the testimony of men. Men are given permission to beat their wives.

How is that at all similar to Jewish courts?

Have you heard of honor killings? Recently a mother burned her daughter alive for eloping. You really want our laws to ignore that?

It was in response to a post that claimed that Deaborn was under Sharia law.

I know that Sharia law can have multiple forms, one form being as simple as being a form of arbitration voluntarily performed by two parties in dispute and leaning on tenets of the teachings of Islam to resolve the dispute.

But educate us all...show us in Dearborn, Michigan, the horrors of Sharia law.

Again, what part of this implies that religious law would supersede US law?

I hold some parts of Islam as high of esteem as the Catholic belief that I and all others who reject Christ will go to Hell.
