You are fooling yourself this is a huge hit, businesses won't be laughing this off. NC already had plenty of history that this was going to hurt them but they were completely blind.
By the way, glad that NC corrected the little problem mentioned below in this hastily conceived legislation that sent all discrimination cases to Federal Court. Some of our resident CD experts felt that was a great idea.

The modification, written into House Bill 169, restores the right to file discrimination lawsuits in state court — within one year of the alleged offense, which is shorter than the previous three-year limit but twice as long as the limit in federal court. Senate leader Phil Berger’s office said at the time the bill was passed – on the final night of this year’s session – that the one-year limit is similar to other statutes of limitation on state court claims

Yep, you're exactly right. I know the owner of a BBQ restaurant right downtown - about 2 blocks from the arena. I'm sure this is taking a bunch of money out of his pocket. I'll talk to him, see what he thinks about the All Star game pulling out and report back.
A bakery shouldn't have to bake a cake for a gay wedding if it is a private bakery. Let the market decide what you want to do with a homophobic business. It's not a business model I would want to take, and there will be plenty of other companies that will take your business. As long as that business isn't being threatening to gays, I'd have no problem with that homophobic business model.
Exactly, exactly, exactly! If I had a restaurant and I only wanted to serve people between 5'-4" and 5'-9" tall and are left handed (for whatever reason I have), I should be able to! However, people would certainly have the right to boycott and (peacefully) protest my business practices. My company, my money, my decision.
People who are upset with the NBA have the same options. They can stop watching games, not buy NBA merchandise, and stage protests outside the arenas.

All those bakers (both of them) that took issue complying with regulations and not discriminate, maybe they should have a march on Washington.
"I'm going to refrain from stating my real thoughts on this and simply say, we never had that money to start with so all we lost was an opportunity to make money. A lot of money from what I was told. Political pissing contests only hurt the innocent bystanders. It has little or no impact on those doing the pissing."
your religion is a relationship between you and whatever you believe in. it doesn't mean you use politics to force others to believe what you believe.
pretty simple
