Unbelievable!

I can't believe the cops are "giving" away with this! I'm certainly glad someone had their cell phone camera with them this time!

Not surprised this is in Halifax. Canadian cops are far-from-perfect, but fortunately the militarization of police tactics and equipment — the us vs. them mentality — has not yet become as much of a problem here as it has south of the border.

If police continue to do this, it would change minds and hearts. Now the media just needs to report it, think they will?

This is absolutely ridiculous. We constantly hear about the lack of police resources. Now cops are getting paid to hand out ice cream? What if the driver has no license, panics, and flees the illegal stop? Also what if he sees a crack pipe in the car? Well, your honor the probable cause was an ice cream stop....

If something like this humanizes cops and creates good will in the community, who cares?

My only thought was - isn't holding an ice cream cone and driving with one hand something they'd recommend against? Maybe not the best thing to hand out, but I have no problem with this.
