One thing to remember, we all agree its freedom of expression/First AMendment stuff, but his issue is he is misguided about facts and he is representing a corporation when in Uniform, the 49ers/NFL. The corporation has rules, and as a employee, HR will have to determine if he violated any rules for the NFL..

Bull: all this does is send a message to young people; do what you want, forget about what else our flag stands for. How about all those who have served our country and given their lives for that flag? He has every right to feel minorities have been mistreated, and racism is alive, but there are others ways to protest.

Steve: interesting your posting about his converting to Islam.

Kaepernick's biological mother, Heidi Russo, was 19 when he was born. Faced with the prospect of raising her son on her own (Kaepernick's biological father fled as soon as he discovered Russo was pregnant), she had spent much of her pregnancy debating whether she should put her baby up for adoption. After meeting the Kaepernicks, who had been introduced to her through a common friend, she decided to give her young child up.

He was adopted by a white woman and white man who gave him their name.

But he is black and that's all that matters!

In the upcoming weeks we will be remembering 9/11. Are you going to say as well "that was over 15 years ago. Get over it"?

History is not something you get over. Doesn't work that way. Independence Day was hundreds of years ago but we still remember that every year.

I'm not sure of your nationality but if you were to find out the creator of City Data said your ethnic group is inferior, and that they would enslave your family if they could. Would you still patronize this forum because you both are "Americans"? It's the same thing as this situation.

Every other group can cry until the cows come home about the atrocities their ancestors faced but blacks are the only ones that have to "get over it".

Do you tellNative Americans who are less than 10% of the population "Get it over. That was hundreds of years ago. There isn't that many of you anymore but hey, you're Americans now!!"
I don't see Holocaust survivors, 911 families or even American Indians using the events of the past to excuse criminal and anti social behavior, and/or continued reliance on government assistance like blacks have done in the past 50 yrs. Those groups, while not forgetting their past, have indeed moved on from their tragic events to lead productive lives. Too much of black society uses slavery as a crutch to explain actions and lifestyles not exhibited by other groups. Deny it all day if you wish, it is there to see EVERY DAY, in the papers, on tv, on the Internet. Tell me, when was the last time a rampaging group of American Indians burned down a town they lived in to protest the wrongs suffered by their ancestors?

Your ancestors obviously suffered greatly because of slavery. But Kapernick? Obama? Sharpton? YOU? Besides the obvious, that those who have slaves in their family lineage would not even have been born were their ancestors not bought here, the fact is that you would be living a much different life had your family never left Africa.

YES, GET OVER IT!!!

He's protesting because of perceived police brutality against blacks. The whole BLM thing. You know, the whole thing that conservatives such as yourself discredit. Nothing to do with Obama and conservative rhetoric.

Colin Kaepernick explains why he sat during national anthem - NFL.com
He is what most liberals are, hypocritical and poorly informed.

Here is a black guy who was adopted and raised by white parents. Racist America continued the assault on him with a college education, and an NFL CONTRACT of $100,000,000 + to play football .... more money over a five year period than 50 regular people will earn in a lifetime .... an extremely blessed and lucrative position in life to wit few have the privilege of enjoying. In return, he aligns himself with the racist radicals of Black Lives Matter, condemning a country, and by insinuation, his own white parents for whom without, he would have nothing.

If fair treatment would be applied to him, he would lose all of that, and maybe then he would appreciate what he lost ... since he surely doesn't appreciate what he has received.
