Homeland eyes special declaration to take charge of elections | Washington Examiner

What do you think is the most effective way to count votes, and maintain integrity? Not sure this is it!

""We should carefully consider whether our election system, our election process, is critical infrastructure like the financial sector, like the power grid," Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said."

While I think that it might be possible to consider the election system 'critical infrastructure', I'm not sure about giving an alphabet agency, with no prior experience, oversight of this process. Besides, my brother-in-law used to be with DHS, and he's a dork.

I don't want DHS in charge of anything. The lot of them couldn't pour pee out of a boot , with instruction written on the heel. I crinved when W announced its formation as a federal agency, especially since he formed it at the same time the Patriot act was signed. Sieg freaking Heil. Homeland Security. Sound straight out of a Soviet Union playbook.

I'd rather Putin be in charge of the elections.

The danger is from foreign powers rigging our elections.
But one thing is perfectly clear: if DHS is in charge of the elections they WILL BE rigged.

Yeah, I don't mind an independent oversight committee, but don't trust that to be the DHS.

"What do you think is the most effective way to count votes, and maintain integrity?"

Have every vote signed and have name and vote posted online for everyone to see.

This way we will know who voted to steal our property or impose their personal beliefs upon us with the thug government guns.

Secret ballots are just creepy I want to know which tyrants in my neighborhood are voting for what form of government aggression, violence, and coercion they want to impose upon me.

Counting them is a joke. ANYONE can vote in our silly "elections" for "representatives". Even dead people vote in this country, ironically for the philosophies that account for the most murders of humans throughout all human history.

And no matter who you vote for, it will still be the Morgans, Rockerfellers, and the Rothschilds really calling all the shots

Paper ballots. Every voter gets one, they go to the booth and fill it out, and they slip it into the ballot box on their way out the door. Optical scanner reads the ballots at the end of the night and tallies the votes, and the election judges call in the vote totals when they're done counting. Paper ballots are locked in a secure box and stored in a secure area in case of recount.

At no point in the process is any - ANY - computer in the polling place connected to the internet, period. No computer or other piece of electronic equipment is allowed to have any wireless or other connection even installed. They are completely stand-alone machines, with no capability whatsoever for external communication of any kind. All they are intended to do is count - there is no reason they need to accept incoming communications or transmit any outgoing data.

It's just that simple. That's all you need to do, and there is no reason at all to do anything any differently than this - unless you specifically want to build in the capability to tweak the results.

This is the goal for blaming Russia for these email hacks - so that there is a perceived enemy, and a perceived need for the government to take over.

It is absolutely necessary for ALL Americans for states to maintain control of their elections.

States need to employ their own oversight committees.
