Sergeant Steve Owen, 29 year veteran... Killed yesterday while responding to a burglary by male black parolee. An unjustified murder Steve was shot in the head by the coward... Who then fled in his radiocar...then into a house using kids as shields.. SEB SWAT took him down with no injuries...
Can we riot now? Policemen in the street demanding justice
HIS LIFE MATTERS! Not some mindless thug that has spent his useless life preying on innocent people.
We need to fix our joke of a revolving door justice system. Criminals need to be locked up for long sentences in order to protect the public. Playing catch and release is getting far too many innocent people killed. We need to stand up to criminals, not feel sorry for them. If you're a "protected class" the thought of prison is a joke. Odds are you won't spend a day behind bars for the first several times you are actually caught, and if you do it will be for a short time.

Many of us have argued to quit putting people into prison for non violent offenses so that those who are violent can stay in longer.

I agree as far as legalizing drugs is concerned. If some loser wants to kill himself with meth/heroin/coke, let them. But not other "non-violent" crimes. Property crimes (robbery, burglary, car theft, vandalism) all take a huge impact on every community. Lock them up, let pot users out.
He is automatically a hero because he was a cop?
Or because he was killed in the line of duty?
Fact is we really don't know a thing about this officer. May have been a great one, may have been a bad one. There is already a big enough wedge in between us all and this assertion that all badge wearers are heroes does nothing but drive it deeper.

Here in Louisville we just had someone involved in a **school shooting** 2 years ago not spend one day in jail that just got shot and is now in critical condition. Time to hold those judges accountable!
