While I agree with your pro-choice stance, it is untrue that there are "hundreds of thousands of kids already waiting to be adopted". As of December 2015, about a year ago, there were around 100,000 foster children eligible for and waiting to be adopted. The average age is 7 years old. It is very difficult to adopt a baby in the US.
