This is getting pretty boring. I know you probably want to participate in some lengthy post battle where you see who keeps going longest since your actual point was almost meaningless. Hopefully, that makes you feel like you won something in life. There, that's my gift to you. Merry Christmas! LMAO
You're not reading or paying attention. I don't need or want your money. As a high earner I have paid in way way more than the median in taxes since 1981.
My public option would be funded by its participants.
So your "public" option would not be subsidized in any way by the government, it would not use any tax payer money, it would not require any monetary aid from the government or systems there in?
Why do you need government then? Just start up your own shared system like that Christian insurance company that shares expenses between all members? No government involved, liberty is protected, everyone is happy?
People buy insurance against loss, in this case, loss from health care services needed. You have a contract with the insurance company. They agree to provide certain services, in exchange for your money. Why shouldn't you use it for what you're paying for? Do you buy food and not eat it? Do you buy clothes and not wear them?
Not all the insurees will use all the services.
Except the cost of the services far out pace the premiums. In order to remain profitable, the premiums would then need to cover not only the expense of the subscribers use, but an addition in order to gain profit.
Insurance is a concept of an emergency use product. That is, most of the subscribers do not end up using the insurance. This allows the company to cover those that end up using in emergency situations and continue to gain a profit. It is an odds game and depending on the odds, the premiums will reflect the rate of occurrence of that covered issue. If everyone used the insurance, it would no longer be an odds game, but a direct service and the premiums would then need to reflect the rate of use and cost.
You don't seem to understand what insurance is.
