Comrade Castro was a great man -- a true giant. Had more cojones than most of these American presidents. Stood up to and defeated imperialism. Refused to allow Cuba to be an American territory where drugs, pimping, gambling and gun-running would be prevalent.
Instead it became a dirt poor place where drugs, pimping and gambling are prevalent. Awesome outcome.
Castro is dead. He will be missed. I wish he could have been a thorn in Trumps butt.
He was a good man, a man of his people. He governed with sensitivity and dedication for decades. While I was more touched by Hugo Chavez's death I am in deep, inconsolable mourning.
One of Fidel's signal accomplishments was turning many of his people into champion swimmers and boaters.
We have more oil than most of the world does and if Obama would just let American capitalism work you liberals would loses your quip of "No more blood for oil" and these Middle Easterners would lose their hold over their people over there ... No money no war making equipment to buy.
My dad always said buy American and keep your money at home!
They are clinging by a thread. If we were to embargo their oil or some other strong sanction, the wheels would fall off and it would be a bloodbath that makes what's happening in Syria look like a pimple on a person's arse.
But why is it America's responsibility to push for "stability" in that country? Why not just leave and let them deal with their issues? Think about it.
Just heard about the passing of Fidel Castro. Regardless of whatever political ideology you embrace, this man was a great leader for his country. He lived a full life, and died at 90, outlasting many of his detractors (individuals, and world leaders alike).
But why is it America's responsibility to push for "stability" in that region? Why not just leave? Think about it.
I would very much like that. Let the Europeans deal with the refugees. If you were paying attention, that is what Trump wants to do, except for eradicating ISIS which absolutely must be done.
Anyway, this thread is about celebrating the death of a brutal tyrant who destroyed countless lives.
