In fact just today:

The US economy will grow by 2.3 percent in 2017 and 3.0 percent in 2018, said the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, revising its earlier forecast. That compares to gross domestic product growth of 1.5 percent this year, according to the OECD.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-ele...105313461.html

They revised upwards economic forecasts due to Trumps plans of rebuilding the infrastructure of the US and cutting corporate taxes. That will double economic growth as Trump promised.
I did read your response.

You seem to have found your Savior. Apparently somewhat like Moses, he will lead you out of the 'desert'. One of the problems with that particular faith based belief system is a people willing to be led into the 'promised land' are just as likely to be led right back into the wilderness by the next charlatan to come along. The other very large problem is Mr. Trump is a charlatan, fraud & Con Artist.

He isn't going back on everything, in fact almost nothing: he is simply modifying which is to be expected. if you really believed he would or could do all he said when running you have a lot to learn about politics. Of course you are possibly a liberal and this comment is just a plant. Doesn't make any difference, he isn't doing what you say he is and who ever is thinking about how likely it is he will run again anyway? Please let us get through the organization stage before planning the 2020 election.

If you were buying what Trump was selling, then it's on you as much as it is on him. Because so much of his steamy rhetoric was so over the top that even he didn't believe was he was spouting. He's a sales guy and always has been. He'll promise anything to close the deal.

Delivering on promises has ever been something he was very good at. Just witness the long line of contractors he's shorted over the decades. And that's why he keeps an army of lawyers employed full time to help cover his tracks.

That's his lifelong record. All those hoping that he's now a changed man are just deluding themselves.
Good post, OG!

Nope. Just willing to wait and see what actually happens before hurling insults. Folks like you are the same ones who said he would never win the GOP nomination and after that would never beat Clinton. And now the mantra is he will never get anything done. We will see.

This is one of Trump's most effective strategies - say anything at any time to score a point or win an election or close a deal - then backpedal, deny, lie, spin, prevaricate, flip-flop; whatever seems to work. He successfully horns-waggled half the voting public in this last election with these tactics.
Not quite half...

62.4 million voted for Trump. 64.5 million voted for Hillary. Just saying...

Very interesting how so many Trump supporters go on about the many people who thought Trump could never become the GOP nomination and/or beat Clinton, as if those people were misinformed or not thinking clearly. As if Trump supporters were somehow smarter or better or more American than people who simply could not see Trump as POTUS.

The many millions of Americans who couldn't imagine Trump becoming POTUS were simply people who didn't realize there were so many millions of Americans inclined to support someone like Trump! No one really knew there were so many who would vote for Trump for the reasons they did, and of course as it turns out, they weren't even the majority of Americans who voted.

Yet this continues to be the big "claim to fame" for Trump supporters. Typical...

Something like trying to guess so many people would be gullible and needy enough to enroll at Trump University. Yet, there always seem more people victim of fraud "smoke and mirrors" than you would think!

In the case of Trump, however, we're all victims of those most gullible and needy...

Does the OP believe that Hillary was going to keep her promises? No one running for office keeps their promises.

Obama promised to overhaul our health care system, and he did.

Obama also promised to get us out of Iraq, and essentially he did.

Of course the final outcome of campaign "promises" can rarely be exactly as a POTUS may promise. There is a Congress after all, but they can come through in leading the country in the direction they indicate while running for POTUS, as Obama did.

IOWs, I disagree that no POTUS keeps their "promises," but I will agree that "promises" may not be the best way to describe what a POTUS claims he/she will do if elected. Problem is, people don't respond too well when candidates simply say they will try.

People want leaders who will DO, not TRY, so politicians "promise" instead of speaking honestly and pragmatically.
