So Assad's Syria has taken part of Aleppo back. So when, with Russian help, they turn next to Raqqa, do the anti-Isis people here want to help, hinder, or ...
I want nothing, I mean nothing to do with Syria. I don't want to continue to arm and train Kurds, no air support, no more tinkering with Iraq (we left them enough arms and have flown 800+ sorties since 2014). In short, let everyone over there figure this mess out knowing we helped create, and then exacerbate (jv team?) the situation.
Same with Iran. We normalize relations with Vietnamese and Cuba, time to do the same with Iran.
Ask where I was before being recalled? How many times my unit was activated under clinton? Specs on 130s? What MOPP is? Why most prior service cringe at the wmd acronym? Where basic was, bases I've been, what the difference between a bpo and a 100 hour inspect is?
Or be the typical keyboard warrior playing risk thinking you know what you are talking about.
Ignore Mike. I agree we need to get out and stay out. I do support the Kurdish people and their cause, but at the expense of continuing our eternal war in that area, forget it. Those governments, if willing, have more than enough manpower to defeat ISIL if they like. As far as Aleppo, the humanitarian crisis is heartbreaking and needs to end ASAP, even if it means Assad remains in power.
Actually, kinda silly to believe that someone who had "been there" was better informed that another person who had not.
Iran would love to "normalize" relations with the US.
But I wouldn't do it. I'd continue to make things as difficult as I could for as long as I could. They have no place in the 21st century world.
We're hardly in Syria, anyway. Looks like our side is gonna lose, anyway.

I never said I was better informed.
We do have delta and seal teams in Syria. We do fly sorties. And for what? As the other poster says, to continue an eternal war?
Iran, I can understand why some here want to make life difficult. However, how much are we continually contributing to them being a thorn in our side? Yemen fires Iranian supplied missiles at our navy because we are in their waters. What legal authority do we have for being there?
