Kind of silly for her to have competed in a beauty contest in which all you can see is the face. These contests are about the whole body, not just the face. I will grant that she does have a beautiful face though.
Meh. You can still see she is in good shape even if you can't see her actual body parts.
I don't understand why these people are so proud of their roots but immigrate to the US and try to impose it on everyone else. Go back home and do the pageant there. But pageants in Somalia are probably for harlots, so she would be killed. Or traded for a few prized sheep.
LMFAO Oh you mean like the Protestants, Catholics, Baptists, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Methodists, Jews, etc did when they came to this country? Because they like totally gave up their roots, beliefs, practices and cultures upon stepping foot on this soil!! Man, GMAFB.
Considering the hijab is worn as an act of modesty, as are the garments that cover everything, it seems to be against her own beliefs as she's prancing on stage being judged by her looks.
I'm going to venture a guess that many, if not most, pageant contestants are self avowed Christians. Christianity, especially when it pertains to women, has a LOT to say about modesty. If we aren't judging the good Christian girls for going against their own beliefs, I think we need to give the Muslim girl the same latitude.
So brave! Give the girl an trophy for the attention she so desperately craves.
More normalization and excuse making for abhorrent cultural practices.
Good job leftists, you are embracing misogynist cultural practices in the name of diversity. It is clear that women are ranked lower on the pyramid of grievances.
Next up: How female circumcision is an empowering tool for women! Another way to empower women? Plural marriage! Share the burden of child rearing and household chores together, like a sisterhood! Girl power!
Are the Catholic and Mennonite religions also oppressive?
Catholics wear hijab? Nuns do, but that's the uniform of their job. And ultimately yes, it's misogynist practice. Run of the mills Catholics do not. Unless you're an old women in Europe in mourning. But then, it is definitely NOT prescribed by the church or culture, and there are no family consequences of not wearing it.
And yes, the menonite dress codes are also misogynistic for women. As are Hassidic wigs and dress codes.
Only difference is we don't CELEBRATE those practices and normalize them! (and at least Hassidic women purposely choose to blend in to society... as one would do if you're actually trying to be MODEST and avoid ATTENTION as a woman --- the exact opposite of what happens when you're a woman in a bee keeper's outfit).

So priests and monks are therefore being attacked by misandry for their clothing? And male Muslims too, right?
Millions of Muslims across the Muslim world are oppressed and forced into wearing this misogynistic tool; hijab.
In the West the useful-idiot Leftists glamorize this religious garb.
See this is the part I just don't get.
I always thought they were FORCED to wear Hijab, if they don't wear that thing, they might be stoned to death.
but according to this article,
Some Muslim women are posting on social media their fear that it may no longer be safe to wear the hijab in the United States, after Donald Trump won the presidency early Wednesday morning.
“My mom literally just texted me ‘don’t wear the Hijab please’ and she’s the most religious person in our family…” writes one woman on Twitter.
Obviously, it is a choice. They don't have to wear it if they don't want to.
