I said that I would not choose any of them. It's your hypothetical question and that is my answer.

However, I did not do as you asked and give reason why. I will now.
  • Giuliani - Seems to lack knowledge of much beyond NYC and his appeal is low. And I think he tainted his credibility by shilling commercials for Life Lock on late night infomercials & Jerry Springer.
  • Romney - Loses election to one of the worst presidents of US history. With that he joins the same boat as John Kerry who also lost election to a worthless President. And look how inept that Kerry is at the job. No accomplishments except appeasement of a communist dictator and an Islamic fundamentalist dictator. Romney would be the same.
  • Petraeus - Disqualified himself when he banged that married slag in Charlotte. In this, he is no better than Bill Clinton or John Edwards, and that is a pretty low bar. No one truly knows when it happened but both were officers in the US Military and should be setting example.

I believe Petraeus deserves a second chance. Mitt Romney is a business guy. Giuliani is too old. This job requires lots of traveling.

I'm sure more posters than you know agree with you, all valid reasons. However, I'll rephrase my question to be crystal clear:

If you were pushed up against the wall (should I add firing squad?), and had to endorse one of the three candidates of the day (who knows, the contenders could change tomorrow)—Giuliani, Romney, or Petraeus—which would you choose?

I can't imagine any of them ignoring pleas for help and leaving our ambassadors in other countries defenseless, so I am okay with any of them.

Imagine the Congress of the USa making a law stating security has to go to the lowest bidder. Even in a foreign country where nobody knows the bidder.

Romney met with Trump and zero announcement which likely means he is letting Romney down... Petraeus is the pick.. Romney is a spy for the Tech CEOs... slimebag... glad I didn't vote for him...

If Trump picks be-tray-us or Romney I will no longer support him and bash the hell out of him.

As a former Marine and Veteran, I just can't accept the fact that an enlisted guy can violate the UCMJ and do time in the brig and then end up with either an other than honorable or dishonorable discharge - but be-tray-us gets a slap on the hand and promoted to SOS.

I'm already disgusted with his pick of Elaine Chao. What happened to " drain the swamp?" She's McConnell's wife and a recycled Bush flunky.

There's so many people to pick from who are capable - why pick a shyster or an asset stripper who kicked you in the teeth?

I would go with someone who is honest and staunchly Pro-American. No globalist---for sure.

Ron Paul/Rand Paul, Tulsi Gabbert or some other non-politician who hasn't sold out to the globalists or isn't a CFR member.
