If the Israel-Palestine issue was resolved in 2017 and the two state solution went into effect, would the UN start dealing with real world issues or would they become more useless as they no longer have Israel on their daily agenda?

The question presupposes that the UN is somehow overly focused on this issue. You know and I know that this issue is one of the most important ones for regional stability and peace. They rightfully focus on it.

Unlike your other thread which would result in a major power vacuum in all likelihood, a properly implemented two state solution where both sides are willing cease all hostilities and move on would be great.

This is why two threads were created. Treat each thread by assuming each happened post some date in 2017.

They are overly focused on Israel.

There will never be two states. The Arabs have proven it time and again.

No two state solution. The land belongs to God, and He gave it to the Jewish people; it's all written in the Bible.

Two different premises, two different questions, thus two different paths for the threads to follow. We had nearly two dozen threads created a week ago in relation to a vote, thus these threads were created at see the reactions if the resolutions were actually either put into place or a war occurred. The threads are related to the UN, as Israel would be off the table for discussion if either occurred.

Per the OP it happened. Religion had little to do with it.

I think UN is pretty useless in preventing conflict/wars from happening.

The entire world just condemned Israel for what they coined the largest obstacle to peace, settlements.
