This. We don't "need" more random dumb/low-IQ people. And worse, their low incomes invariably mean they will end up on some form of welfare
I've never understood the Bernie-brand liberals that are for $15/hour minimum wage, but in the next breath talk about how they are "in favor" of things like immigration/more refugees. It's like how retarded can you be?! More people/immigrants = more DOWNWARD pressure on wages, duh!
I don't think cars/fossil fuel issue is even the problem. A car is just a tool, gas is just a liquid, neither is "good" or "bad".
The problem is TOO MANY FREAKIN' PEOPLE
A small/balanced population of 5 million? Not a problem.
A large 500 million population, and a good percentage of them has cars or need gas? That's when you get traffic, pollution, strain on resources, etc.
However here is when numbers look bad for The America way of Life, since an average consumption of fossil fuels and all kind of energy by an american average citizen is 10 or more times the consumption of fossil fuels and resources of an African citizen or a middle Eastern. And yet, Africans and Middle Easterns have to accept Dollars made of paper to sell their oil so Amercians can keep their standars of living. If they reject Paper made dollars Like Gadafi and Sadam Hussein did, they will suffer the hate of the American army to kill those threatening leaders who reject paper made dollar.
From this propective all countries shoud reject Paper made dollars and request Gold and Silver in Exchange for their Oil that way US citizens would effectively pay the real cost of their way of life and Oil producers will receive a real value for their oil.
This will have a double Good effect, Americans will moderate their consumption of Energy, and Poor countries will enhance their quality of life and become middle class citizens who reduce their rates of reproduction.

so live like they did in the 1950s... cook at home, have one car, live in a <2000 sq home
for all the whining about the middle class, we live like the upper class did of the 1950s
Exactly. No cable Tv, no $100 a month smart phone plan, no Netflix, no Xbox subscription or video games in general, no Dunkin' Donuts, brew your own coffee instead, make every meal from scratch rather than going to Mickey D's during lunch hour. Also don't take out loans for college. Go to a community college and transfer while studying something with a return on investment like computer science.
People today have way more bills than people in the 50's did, and many of these bills are optional.
People always blame politicians, laws, and illegal aliens for all our economic problems. However, the true cause of our problems are over population and declining natural resources.
The world economy is designed around constant growth. However, earth is not getting any bigger. Why do people think we can keep growing and draining resources endlessly without any negative consequences?
We have already used half of the world's oil with demand climbing constantly. For these reasons.. oil will continue to become more expensive in the coming decades until we use it all up 30-50 years from now. Since we need oil for just about everything (transportation, manufacturing, food production, consumer goods, etc.) its safe to assume everyone's lifestyle will either decline or become more expensive to maintain until we find an oil replacement.
And there is nothing your hero Trump can do about it. All those jobs he promised along with the "Make America Great Again" ain't gonna happen. It won't happen because our politicians are not the cause or the result of over population and declining resources.
You can't negotiate or make "deals" with mother nature. The so-called "good times" for the U.S. in the 1950's was around peak U.S. oil production. Since that peak.. our lifestyle has become more expensive. We import the majority of our oil from the middle east. This is why one person cannot support a family on a middle class income anymore. Guess what? Those days are over and they are probably not coming back in our lifetime. Nothing Trump can do about it (and nothing Hillary could of done either).
Even if "technology saves us" it will take years upon years to transition to a new source of energy that replaces oil. The longer it takes to find a replacement and start implementing the changes.. the worse our standard of living will get in the meantime as oil prices rise.
To anyone who believes this is "fear mongering" or "Liberal propaganda" I just ask that you provide a good argument with strong evidence and facts.
"However, the true cause of our problems are over population and declining natural resources."
And YOUR credentials to make such definative claims are what?

Some of us are doing just that. And finding its preferable and healthier.
One of these decades, perhaps we will actually "hit" peak oil. It's been predicted for decades...yet ever year new fields are discovered and new, more efficient means of extraction are developed. If WE have an issue with oil-it will be of our own making NIMBY and ignorant politicians "locking up" our natural resources will hurt us far more than lack of supply.
And as we hit peak oil, alternative sources of energy will gradually become more practical. Battery packs are providing longer range and quicker charging. Costs are still out of reach for many, but getting more reasonable. As far as food getting more expensive? Don't forget-we PAY farmers NOT to plant their fields in order to keep prices up now.
The other elephant in the room is that the overwhelming majority of those "reproducing like rabbits" are low-IQ/dumb people with low incomes to match (further straining government welfare programs and schools, and thus putting UPWARD pressure on taxes). Dumb/low-IQ people that carelessly pop out babies without the proper planning, foresight, and resources are a BIG problem
Property taxes for example are a huge rip-off for childless/single people. Supposedly the taxes pay for schools and teacher's paychecks, but what happens if one doesn't have any kids? That arrangement doesn't sound very "fair" or "liberal" to me
QUALITY of people matters too, and the people overbreeding these days are almost all low-IQ/low-income types. Smart/responsible people are not having babies at the same level.
After several decades of the ^above^ trend it's NO WONDER quality of living is down, cost of living is up, social trust is down, culture is in the crapper, etc
Can we remember (and we planned our ONE child for ten years) that not every planned pregnancy results in a "smart " child..
Steve Jobs was born an "accident" to unmarried parents.
I think we shouldn't be so quick to turn to eugenics ....
(how to weed out the "dumb " from the "smart"..)...
I think the real elephant in the room is defense spending-
do we really need 2000 military bases around the world?...
(although I guess the American dream was fueled by world wide post war devastation- is thats what is happening here, we are gearing up for the next great world war?)...
"Smart/responsible" people, as you label them, are not having babies and "burdening the system" as you would say that way, I agree, but they can have other problems/issues that burden the system as well. One example would be of so called "smart" people or affluent ones having bad diets and unhealthy lifestyles (too much work, not enough exercise, not making the time for exercise, eating the wrong foods, etc.)creating overweight status and then creating a slew of health care problems related to that, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, cancer (many of these are lifestyle related and weight related--being overweight, for example, increases chances of all cancers). Cigarette smoking, too, for example, can lead to COPD (lung problems).
Chronic illness, much of it being preventable and can be attributed to middle and upper class people also, burdens all of us with higher health insurance premiums and health care costs costs, "burdening" the whole society. Many of these chronic diseases are directly lifestyle related and affect costs (higher) for all of us.
Actually, good health is more correlated to higher incomes and/or wealth. Such persons are LESS of a burden on society.
Some of us are doing just that. And finding its preferable and healthier.
Yes, we do that as well. A lot of people would love to change over to minimalist living, small home living. Solar, wind, etc. What stops us is government regulation.
"HUD Wants to Outlaw Living in RVs and Tiny Homes
APRIL 2, 2016 AT 5:18 AM
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development – which ironically was founded to end poverty and racial injustice in housing – proposed a law last month that would make living in a recreational vehicle – and potentially a tiny home – illegal." HUD Wants to Outlaw Living in RVs and Tiny Homes
Codes and requirements for solar and wind are ridiculous. It ends up costing more in government paperwork than it's worth.
We need the government to mind their own business and let the people of America work out these problems. They are more than willing. You have Americans that want to downsize, pay off debt, live debt free, recycle, reduce waste but their is so much red tape it's obvious the government would rather have them in debt and on food stamps. This all needs to change.
