Liberals are delusional if they seriously think $8/hour will ever make them rich How dumb can liberals be? If you want more money you have to TRY DIFFERENT THINGS such as becoming a professional in something, starting a business, investing, etc. It seems liberals have this "tunnel vision" where the ONLY path they see in life is this "traditional" worker-bee model. Then they experience jealousy/resentment for those who veered off this "path" and "made it big" in life, calling for more taxes etc

People who live in the REAL WORLD know income inequality is mostly natural/normal, ala the non-partisan universal law of "survival of the fittest". People that have more drive, more ambition, higher IQs, bigger "balls", less fear of taking risks tend to do better financially in life than minimum wage liberal/Bernie voter types.... there is nothing "unusual" about that
Our Declaration of Independence states, “all men are created equal." How about acting like an American and respecting all Americans (instead of glorifying the rich while you belittle low income workers.)

Obama tried to raise the min wage, give the middle class tax cuts, and raise taxes on billionaires. How can you blame income inequality on Obama when he tried so much to stop it?
Obama made the rich even richer, creating the biggest gap between the middle class and the rich on record, even after raising taxes on the rich.

And Obama widened the racial income/wealth gap. Hillary lost in part because people didn't want to lose even more ground with Obama 2.0

Had Obama NOT caused so many people to lose ground, Hillary might have had a better chance. Think about it...

How did Obama make the rich even richer and create the biggest gap between the middle class and the rich on record?

What laws did Obama pass, support, or block that caused more income inequality?

This is not 1950. Pretending it is won't work out well for you.
Pretending it is the 1970s isn't going to work for you either.

Just thought I'd point that out.

You're right, and much of it is via illegal immigration. It's neither lawful nor natural and is sucking our resources dry.

The big losses in term of income equality occurred during the Reagan Bush era. They continue today at a much slower rate.

The real need of course if we are going to slow or stop the growth in inequality is we need to up income at the bottom at the expense of the top. Called progressive taxation for those who don't recognize it.

Strong economic growth may well float all boats but it will also float high end boats faster than low end making the gap greater if not somehow adjusted.

Trump of course will make it worse.

The middle class didn't get tax cuts but Obama DID raise taxes on the rich. End result = the rich got richer. Do you recognize the problem yet? It's been explained to you many times. Over-reliance on a progressive tax system for tax revenue gives the government a perverse incentive to increase the income/wealth gap in order to maximize tax revenue. And that's exactly what happened as a result of Obama raising taxes on only the rich. I could have told you it would from day one. Get a clue.

The gap is wider now as a result of Obama's policies, both between socioeconomic classes and racially. Pew research isn't making it up. :rollryes:
