He has shown us his evil hand and he hasnt even taken office yet.

As such, I applaud California state leaders from the governor on down for openly defying the policies of Donald Trump.

Our state must lead the opposition to this tyrant in the wings, now.

That's what harboring illegal aliens is. Glad to see you agree we should not.

Well, you're in for eight years of disappointment.

I hope you like complaining -- you'll be doing a lot of that.

Over things like having to pay your housekeeper and gardener in Piedmont a living wage.

BTW, Switzerland periodically gives foreigners the boot.

I hope for your sake that you have Swiss citizenship.

California highways? Have you been here recently? The highways are in horrible shape - potholes, ruts, etc. California is starting to look like a Third World Country because anything goes here. Oh, sanctuary cities will continue to defy federal law, and cutting off funding doesn't matter to those cities. In fact, Eric Holder was just hired to help the state deal with Trump's expected new edicts.

Even after the debacle with the illegal alien who "accidently" killed Kate Steinle, the SF Board of Supes voted to keep the city a sanctuary. It doesn't help when Governor Brown tells a crowd of Mexicans on his visit down there in 2015 "Mine casa is your casa."

I have lived here my entire life and continue to be amazed at the shenanigans of our government and the powers that be. Yup, California is a joke and deserves every swipe it gets by C-D posters. I am with you.

And so he has no real mandate from which to push the most controversial aspects of his agenda. Absolutely none.

California on the other hand, indeed now has a mandate as the largest state in the union, to now take up the mantle of leadership in defending real American values since that will soon be totally void in our nation's capitol.
While I am no fan of Trump and as a lifelong Californian, the immigration laws must be followed. As far as I am concerned, real American values consist of caring for our fellow citizens and NOT law breakers who cost the country billions of dollars. How about the people who came here legally? And the ones going through the proper channels? You do know that most of the illegals are illiterate in their own language. Not to mention the gangs and drug lords. The painful truth is that we are taking in the very bottom of its society. And our tax dollars are going toward supporting them and their anchor babies in terms of housing, water (CA is in a drought), medical care, welfare, food stamps schools and prisons.

What a sad state of affairs we are in.

First; Thank You! We cannot reward those that break our laws; otherwise we have no law. Illegal immigrants and those that over stay their temporary permits cannot be rewarded. It use to be a badge of honor to work hard/study hard and go through financial hardships to finally become and American citizen. Many of the groups, that made their own laws to enter, have no intention to ever assimilate - they want us to assimilate into their culture.

If it was North Korea marching across our Southern border; we would have no problem calling it what it is - an invasion. If we cannot or will not protect our borders; we might as well stop all military spending!

One other good point you bring up - more people does not mean more environmentalism! The more people you have; the more pressure on clean water that is in dire need in Southern CA. That isn't even mentioning more cars, smog, fires and all of the other problems many areas of your State 'enjoy'!

I use to drive truck to CA. That was thirteen years ago and you had terrible roads back then!

Sure, so the punishment is a fine and jail time.

Levy the fine but jailing 3 million people in CA for an infraction is impractical.

Let's deport the violent felons and drug dealers and put everyone else on a path to permanent legal status. Amnesty is the best route.

That's the only solution that will work for the overwhelming supermajority of Californians. The notion of tearing apart families will not work and the governor, his administration, the state legislature, local governments almost unanymously vow to stand with Californians, not mass deportation.

Mind you, Trump himself has backpeddled since election day, but we must remain vigilant.

Jail the mayors and governor, and any other politician/authority who replaces them for harboring, aiding/abetting, etc., illegals.

Let's see how many people are willing to go to prison for 5+ years to violate federal law by protecting illegals.

Would YOU be willing to go to prison for 5+ years to do so?
