I have some problems with communism, Islam etc., but these are ideas or ideologies which arguably have some social value and don't directly result in death. A video of someone committing suicide may be self expression, but it has no redeeming social value. Its more akin to torture porn than to political speech, and is more likely to be viewed by fans of the former or by depressed people thinking of doing the same.

I'm a big supporter of the First Amendment, but the law allows for reasonable exceptions, and I think this is one. Would you be ok with "an artist" posting a video in which he is tortured to death?

I think her family knew their daughter more than internet trolls.

What happens if a bunch of people decide to troll the video by hitting the Like or Heart button? Whatever public service is done by leaving the video up, surely that can be easily undone (and perhaps move into the realm of harm to others struggling with the issue) by watching a bunch of people approve of a person’s suicide by social clicking

Plus, you have no ideas what it feels like being a suicide survivor. (the ones who have been left behind)

I am one. When my boyfriend killed himself, somebody post his story on an internet forum. I certainly contacted the forum and they refused to remove the story. It is sickening to see all these people made comments like "What a handsome guy, such a waste." "He is brave." "He is a coward." "he is selfish." "man, I am wondering if his neck turned purple"

I asked my lawyer friend to write a letter, they immediately removed the posts.

More people have been killed under the name of communism. Religions come as the second murderous "ideas."

Please don't tell me they don't cause direct harm.

well, then you should know grief is an individual journey. So the parents' wish should be honored. I am surprised as a suicide survivor, you don't know this very basis, suicide grief 101.

Losing boyfriend and friends are not the same as losing a child, although you cannot compare or quantify pain and loss.

If he didn't post it himself, I'd take it down. If he did post, I'd respect his wish.

My understanding is its been reported to Facebook numerous times and FB's stance is that the video doesn't violate its standards or TOS.
