You weren't detained. You were delayed. You then got in like I said.

I couldn't enter the US upon landing at an international airport. Why? We were all detained until the next morning when the union member government Immigration employees showed up for work to clear or deny entry to the US.

Yes, there is. Even US citizens cannot enter the US from abroad at will. Everyone, including US citizens, is subject to clearance by Immigration.

True. At least twice a year I have to go through Immigration.
There is nothing in the constitution that guarantees refugees a place in the United States.
US code 1182 pretty much sums it up

Again, absolutely no one ever argued that one did not have to go through customs.

I bet this matches exactly the number of times you go abroad, lol. Of course, anyone who arrives from abroad has to go through Immigration and customs, who is arguing against that??

Actually, the correct reference is "8 USC 1182" (f).
However, it would pay to read ALL of Section 1182, 8 United States Code.
I have read most of it. Very informative, and shoots a lot of talking heads right out of the water!

And if the guy involved ends up at a border station again they will let him in.

The BP can always break your chops if they wish to. But it is not legal to do so.

The cops in the neighborhood where I grew up were actually very nice and friendly guys. But they also would whack you up the side of the head for mouthing off. They did it but it was never legal.
