I believe its just another bs story contrived solely for the purpose of ramping up the hate for liberals.
I don't hate liberals. I like traditional liberals. They are usually bright and can present a coherent, rational argument for their stance on a subject.
Progressives are stupid, emotional, and prone to violence. They won't debate on the merits. They scream, insult, destroy property, attack personally and bodily anyone who disagrees with them.
Big difference between a liberal and a Progressive.
LOL..i'm not that polite to my friends. We treat each other pretty shabbily, but we don't take it personal. Your friends are the people that you don't have to be polite to...the guys that you can dog out and laugh at and they still know that you've got their backs.
I have some good friends that i don't agree with politically and we know that we hate each other's politics, but real friendship will always supersede stuff like that.

Incidentally, the thread title is misleading. No true conservative would ever in a million years support Trump, or, indeed, affiliate themselves with the GOP the past 40 years.

Exactly. We go hard at each other, but even if it's serious, they know that we're doing it out of love for each other and we know that it ain't personal. But no doubt about it...when it gets real, we'll always put our backs together and arm up.
