Vouchers will give the fed govt further entry into to private/religious schools since govt money brings govt strings. Bad idea.
The convo should be about dismantling the DOE, not who is gonna head it up or the policy's they will pursue.
It's all wrong.

Federal policies like what to serve in school lunches? Let state and local governments be accountable for their decisions. They are elected too.

Pretending some federal bureacrat knows more about your children then you do is insulting. They don't care but make believe they do care.

Let me go out on a limb here, and guess that anyone who disagrees with your statements is a "low information voter". Please, please, keep up that line of thought in all your discussions, since it worked so well for you in November 2016!

If you are satisfied with the hole that is our public education system, then by all means keep digging. On the other hand, if you want to see things change for the better, a massive overhaul is needed, and Ms. DeVos is a better choice than anyone from inside the "system".

p.s. - And where do those "low information voters" come from? Why, yes, that very same "educational system" that you are defending. Oh, the irony....

I hope she runs it into the ground so badly that the department is dissolved. Though to do even worse would take some doing.

Decades of Increased State Spending on Public Education Yield Scant Results | The Huffington Post
Despite pumping billions of dollars into public schools for more than 40 years, the most recent data show a public education system that cannot turn money alone into positive results.

Even after a decade of “No Child Left Behind” initiatives and a recent surge of more than $80 billion in federal stimulus since 2009 intended to lift student performance quickly, there is no significant gain.
