I won't mind meeting up with folks on this board if they prove to be like-minded and rational people who don't necessarily think Trump is mighty Savior.

The real problem are those wanting to destroy people with different views than them. They will literally try to take their jobs or business. It happens way too often.

Well, I certainly do. I don't think you'd enjoy spending time with me. I have absolutely no interest in wasting 5 minutes of my life pretending to be civil to anyone who voted for Trump. Only difference between online and real life is that online, they can't see the contempt in my eyes.

See, liberals are far too intolerant for any type of civil meeting.

I never claim to be tolerant of traitors to the Constitution to which I swore an oath to defend.

And I'm going to leave it there. If you want to get all snowflake about it, jump me in another thread. This thread was based on a simple question, to which I gave a simple answer, and I won't take it any further off-topic than I already have.

Fixed it. I'm liberal and have a number of conservative friends. We engage in civil discourse without the insults and name calling. It's not that difficult, really.

I do think that people tend to adopt a persona online that they would never act out IRL. I have a friend who has different political ideologies than I. We have great conversations and tend to find common ground. She's referred me to a board that she goes to and I don't recognize my friend. She's rude, abrasive and condescending. Nothing like she presents IRL. I now assume that she's somewhere in the middle.

ETA I wouldn't have a problem meeting with other P&OC people. I can behave.

I have a friend (a strong Democrat) who said that he not only would never be friends with a Republican, he would never even have a one-night-stand with a Republican. I found his narrow-mindedness disappointing. Unfortunately, I guess a lot of Americans are like that nowadays.

Oh yeah I can just see a POC meetup. Maybe we could hold it at the same roadhouse in Texas where they had the big biker shootout? Ours would pale by comparison.

But personally I'm afraid to leave mom's basement. Plus I'd have to get dressed.

I think most people on here would be civil in person. It'd make for an interesting evening. I suspect many would just get drunk and end up hugging each other - 'you're alright man, for a freaking insert political pejorative, you really are'

And especially if No Recess joins. Curious to know what a capitalist/anarchistic world would be like.
