Mexico City, Parched and Sinking, Faces a Water Crisis

This article presents an alarming potential crisis; a metropolis of 21 million is facing a water crisis eloquently described in this lengthy but well-written New York Times article. According to Ramón Aguirre Díaz, director of the Water System of Mexico City, and as quoted in the Times article (link):

Only one problem; despite Mexico City's continuous inhabition by Spaniards/Mexicans since the early 1500's and the Aztecs for centuries before, not an iota of temperature data is discussed in the article. Most climate alarmists point to climate change in the high Arctic, Kilimanjaro or Antarctica,k where historical data is lacking. I would expect Mexico City to have data going back to the 1600s or 1700s. Yet there is no discussion of any actual temperature increase in the three or so broadsheet pages of this article. The sole support is speculation by Ramón Aguirre Díaz, director of the Water System of Mexico City.

I am sure he is a dedicated public servant. No doubt he'd love Paris to go through so that "climate adjustment" money is coming his way. Does anyone really think that Mexico City's poor will be helped. Does anyone really think that climate change will be ameliorated or adjusted to as a result of Paris?

It's too late as I write for me to break out into laughter. I'm sure I'll get some belly laughs in later.

Update. Trump Privately Tells EPA Chief He Will Pull Out of Paris Climate Accord. I guess Ramón Aguirre Díaz, director of the Water System of Mexico City won't have as much money to spread around as he planned.

The American republican party is the only political party on Earth that does not believe in man-made global warming.
Why Are Republicans the Only Climate-Science-Denying Party in the World?
https://www.theguardian.com/environm...climate-denial

"Multiple studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals show that 97 percent or more of actively publishing climate scientists agree: Climate-warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities."
https://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus/

Even ExxonMobile, Shell and BP corporations believe in man-made global warming.
Our position | ExxonMobil
Climate change and energy transitions | Shell Global
Taking action on climate change | Sustainability | BP Global

The only reason why the republican party says man-made global warming is a hoax is because combating global warming would decrease the profits in the large corporations that fund the US republican party.

This is how stupid they are. If you didn't know better, you would think he was making a joke.

the hoax is the government telling us it can impact human caused global warming and that all life on earth is soon to be doomed unless we hand over more tax money for dubious purposes other than to enrich the well connected or go into some dictator's swiss bank account.. talk about rickle down economics, that's what the democrats who don't believe in trickle down economics is doing with the money collected form extreme and oftern theoretical federal regulations.

the hoax is further validated when the government tells us A/C is more of a threat to life than terrorism. The hoax is HCGW is the cause of terrorism.

Same endpoint can be accomplished with conservation efforts and individuals treating the earth respectfully...not some high priest interceding with the gods on our behalf.

Climate change never needs evidence, it is the only science that is both settled and requires absolutely no evidence. It is also the only science that can't be changed by new data, new insight, or new concepts. Climate change empowers governments and impoverishes people, at least non-elite people.

Stupid? Like those who don't understand "heavier, more intense rains" can run off into rivers etc. and do nothing to replenish aquifers, thus doing nothing to prevent "more and longer doughts"?

The problem isn't high temperatures, it's high birthrates (too many people).

I just Googled Mexico's birthrate. It said 2.24 children per women in 2014. Doesn't sound too high too me.
