God dang it, if the media and the rest of the crappy people that vote for the orange trolls are eating this crap up, we really are screwed. This country will wade mouth deep in crap while trampling on minorities, immigrants, LGBT, and women as long as a few nice sugary words a spoken. efing hell.
Democrats would not applaud or stand when Trump spoke of government ignorance of the criminals of Chicago, Baltimore, and Detroit. They would not applaud when he spoke of protecting American citizens by securing our borders.
They would not applaud when he spoke about the companies who have promised to invest billions in U.S. manufacturing which will provide thousands of new jobs. They do not want the economy unleashed; it would expose the dismal failure of the eight-year Obama administration.

There are tens of thousands who would disagree with you about Obama. However, I'll give you that, looking back, he may turn out to be a 'good' president in the views of some of the population. We know what he did and did not do.
Whereas Trump may just turn out to be a GREAT president. We have yet to see.
TRUMP RATINGS FAIL
2017 Trump address to Congress: 43 million
2009 Obama address to Congress: 52.4 million
Not that I really give a crap, but what is the source of these numbers? Does it consider internet viewership? Technology is moving fast. Nearly half the people I know do not have cable or satellite (or an antenna). That wasn't so much the case in 2009.
The speech seemed pretty popular at work today, which is where / when I listened to it.
The facts are plain to see. A 'merit based' immigration system means only let in skilled, highly qualified labor while screening out unskilled workers. The skilled professionals from overseas accept lower salaries, which is why corporations love them. They do in fact take jobs away from Americans with similar skills.
I thought it was Trump at his finest. He spoke with a measure of civility, quiet dignity, and professionalism, but most important of all, sincerity. There wasn't any of that sense of being fake compared to prior presidents. Trump spoke from the heart and it really showed.
