I wonder if this is why Nunes jumped out of a car the night before he went to the WH and gave the weird press conference. Maybe the WH just found out about Kushner. That would freak out Trump.
I keep hearing that the Senate panel has more power and will get to the truth more easily than the House panel, which Nunes seems to have neutered. I feel badly for Schiff on that because I think he's done a good job there.
We don't hear much about the senate panel, no? This is one of the few stories I've seen.
Susan Collins, Republican from Maine, is insisting that the Senate committee investigate, haul in witnesses and subpoenae Trump’s tax returns if necessary. This shifted the balance of power of the Senate committee.
The House committee is weighted Republican and unless some of them grow a pair, I doubt we will hear from much from them again.
Schiff has done a great job. He's a former prosecutor who put away an FBI guy who was a Russian spy. I suspect we will see him again before this is all over.
There is even more to the story, the banker that Kushner met with went to KGB school and they were addressed in the sanctions, all this around the time that Russian hacking was being investigated.
Quote:
Mr. Kislyak asked for a second meeting to “deliver a message,” Ms. Hicks said. Mr. Kushner sent Avrahm Berkowitz, a White House aide and longtime associate. At that session, Mr. Kislyak told Mr. Berkowitz that he wanted Mr. Kushner to meet Mr. Gorkov, the Russian banker, Ms. Hicks said.

Mr. Gorkov is a graduate of the academy of Federal Security Service of Russia, a training ground for Russian intelligence and security forces. And as the head of Vnesheconombank, Mr. Gorkov presides over a bank whose supervisory board is controlled by members of Mr. Putin’s government, including Prime Minister Dimitri A. Medvedev. It has been used to bail out oligarchs favored by Mr. Putin, as well as to help fund pet projects like the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

This is getting out of control. If Trump doesn't want the job, he should step down. Or is Trump's Christmas present to Princess Ivanka a new career for her husband?
"...So, if you’re keeping track, Jared Kushner, who comes to Washington with no government experience, no policy experience, no diplomatic experience, and business experience limited to his family’s real estate development firm, a brief stint as a newspaper publisher, and briefly bidding to acquire the Los Angeles Dodgers, will be working on trade, Middle East policy in general, an Israel-Palestine peace deal more specifically, reforming the Veterans Administration, and solving the opioid crisis.
Oh wait, that’s not all! Apparently, this new office will also be responsible for “modernizing the technology and data infrastructure of every federal department and agency; remodeling workforce-training programs; and developing “transformative projects” under the banner of Trump’s $1 trillion infrastructure plan, such as providing broadband internet service to every American.”
